PDI THROUGH THE YEARS:

Our Story Has Just Begun

1983 – 2014: Beginnings

Founded in 1983 by Greg Gilkerson, Professional Datasolutions, Inc. was serving over 10,000 convenience retail sites within 15 years. In 1999, PDI released its first PDI Enterprise solution, PDI Petroleum Distribution, and continued to grow. In 2012, Gilkerson was inducted into the PCATS/Convenience Store News Technology Hall of Fame.

2018 – 2019: Acceleration

Starting the year of its 35th anniversary, PDI had added loyalty and collation marketing to its portfolio, along with stronger global cloud and SaaS mobility and automation capabilities. To meet the growing demands of the company, PDI expanded development centers with new offices in Houston, TX and Slovak Republic. In 2019, PDI launched Fuel Pricing software in North America and the PDI Marketing Cloud Solution.

2020 – Present: Diversification

In 2020, PDI continued to grow its operations and diversify its offerings. Data and Insight solutions were expanded to include the Analytics Cloud. The following year PDI created a direct-to-consumer channel to manage real-time promotions and loyalty programs. Today, PDI continues to invest in new technologies to meet the changing needs of the convenience retail industry and beyond.

Following the acquisition and a strategic growth investment by TA Associates, PDI increased its customer count and launched four new business lines. By the end of 2017, PDI served over 100,000 sites in over 50 countries.
